The Moscow Mule Slushie

The Ultimate Summer Refresher: Moscow Mule Slushie

Your New Favorite Frozen Drink

Frosé may be taking over your social media newsfeed as the “it” drink of summer, but we’re here to introduce a new player into the frozen drink game: the Moscow Mule Slushie!

It’s no secret that summer is the season for frozen drinks, and for good reason. It’s full of pool parties, beach days and barbecues, and no one wants to be sipping on a room temperature — or worse, lukewarm — cocktail in the blazing heat.

The Ultimate Summer Refresher: Moscow Mule SlushieBut let’s be honest, some of us prefer a little more kick to our cocktails than what you can find in your frozen rosé, and if you’re a Mulehead like us, a Moscow Mule Slushie is the perfect substitute.

We’ve basically taken all of the classic ingredients of a Moscow Mule — ice, vodka, lime juice and ginger beer — and whirred them together to create the ultimate frozen cocktail. No need to worry about owning one of those fancy circulating frozen drink makers, all you need is a good old-fashioned blender to make a Moscow Mule Slushie part of your very immediate future.

Even better, when served in a 100% copper mug, your frosty mule will stay cold and frozen longer than your typical tiki drink, which means you’ll be able to thoroughly enjoy it as you laze around in your trendy pink flamingo float in the pool. You also won’t have to worry about the dreaded broken glass poolside — an added safety bonus!

There’s really nothing better than all the refreshing flavors of a Moscow Mule made even more so by being served in frozen drink form. So, whether you’re lakeside or beach bound, poolside or landlocked this summer, the Moscow Mule Slushie will become the ultimate summer refresher in any situation that deserves an ice-cold cocktail.

Moscow Mule Slushie

Makes 2 cocktails

  • 1 cup ginger beer
  • ¾ cup vodka
  • ¼ cup plus 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 5 cups ice
  • Fresh mint sprigs and lime wedges, for garnish

  1. Combine all ingredients except garnishes in a blender.
  2. Turn on blender and purée until no large ice chunks remain. IMPORTANT: Start the blender on low, then gradually increase the speed as the ingredients begin to mix together. We are working with a carbonated beverage here!
  3. Pour mixture into two copper mugs and garnish each with a fresh mint sprig and lime wedge. Serve immediately.

And remember, to keep your slushie nice and icy, be sure to serve it in a pure copper mug.
