CELEBRATING LABOR DAY THE MULEHEAD WAY

The Mega Mule: Celebrating Labor Day the Mulehead Way

No one wants summer to end, but every year the time comes when we hang up our swimsuits and beach towels and trade them for boots and fuzzy scarves. Luckily, when Labor Day rolls around, we get one last chance to send off summer with a bang. And for us Muleheads, what better way to do so than with a Mega Mule fit for a crowd?

Whether we’ll find you at the beach this weekend or simply enjoying the outdoors with friends, the Mega Mule is the perfect batch cocktail to savor these last few days of warmer weather. Not sure how to get started on making this mule for a crowd? We’re here to school you in all things Mega Mule!

The Mega Mule: Celebrating Labor Day the Mulehead Way

It all started when bartenders at some of the world’s top drinking establishments decided to capitalize on the Moscow Mule’s popularity by creating the “Mega Mule Challenge,” basically challenging their customers (usually as a group, not individually) to finish a supersized version of the classic drink. Now, you can find Mega Mules on bar menus across the nation and also easily make them on your own at home!

How? The answer is simple. First, you’ll want to get your hands on a large copper drinking vessel like this 54-ounce copper pitcher (that just happens to be on major sale right now.)

Next, you’ll want to find your favorite mule recipe and multiply it accordingly. Most copper mugs hold 16 to 17 ounces, so you’ll want to multiply the recipe for one drink by 3 to have it fill up the mega “mug.” We’ve included a couple of “mega-fied” versions of our favorite summer mule recipes below to get you started, but creative license is all yours when deciding what type of mule you want to make.

Finally, whether you’re celebrating Labor Day with an afternoon at the beach, a picnic in the park, or a backyard BBQ with friends, you’ll want to be sure to have plenty of ice on hand to keep that Mega Mule cold. Sure, a standard cooler works, but if you really want to step up your game, grab this beautiful copper ice bucket, which also happens to be available for a steal right now.

You’re all set to celebrate Labor Day the Mulehead way! Be sure to check out the two Mega Mule recipes below, and don’t forget to head over to MoscowCopper.com to pick up your discounted copper pitcher and ice bucket before it’s too late!
